Narratives of Change

Integrated Learning for the Whole Child

  • We believe that schools are the heart of our communities, and students’ success is essential to the success and vitality of all of our futures. Placing creativity and inquiry at the center of learning prepares students for the world they will help to create, grow into and lead.

In this set of short films Narratives of Change: Integrated Learning for the Whole Child our ongoing work of whole-school arts-centered integrated learning is document through four different schools ranging from k-12. Each site: Wood Middle School, Maya Lin Elementary both in Alameda Unified School District; Peralta Elementary School in Oakland Unified School District; and Arts and Humanities Academy at Berkeley High School, use whole child learning that focus on art-centered integrated learning across all content and learning spaces. Our IDEAL practitioners have worked with and supported whole-school transformation with these sites for the past 10 years in creating ongoing creative hands-on, minds-on learning spaces to support all learners. Please get in touch with us if you would like to work with us, visit these sites or learn more.

These films were created through the generous support of the Stuart Foundation and the Alameda County Office of Education in California.
